Kharadi, 25th September 2024: A computer engineer riding a two-wheeler died in a collision with a speeding dumper in the Kharadi area of Nagar Road on Tuesday (24th September) morning. Following the accident, the dumper driver fled the spot, and the Chandannagar police registered a case against him.
The deceased has been identified as Chaitanya Umesh Shinde (23), a resident of the Supreme Aangan Society in Wagholi. Chaitanya had recently completed his computer science course and was employed at an IT company in Kharadi.
Around 6:30 am on Tuesday, Chaitanya was riding in the Kharadi area when he was struck by the speeding dumper near Reliance Mart. The impact threw him off his bike, causing severe injuries. After the accident, the dumper driver fled without stopping.
Residents and police quickly rushed Chaitanya to the hospital, but he succumbed to severe head injuries during treatment. A search is currently underway for the dumper driver, and CCTV footage shows that the vehicle headed in the Hadapsar direction after the incident.
