Pune, 23rd August 2024: The Maharashtra State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding with the German State of Baden-Württemberg to train and provide skilled manpower. District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Pune has appealed to skilled youth seeking jobs in Germany and teachers interested in teaching the German language to local bodies to register on the website https://www.maa.ac.in.

Technicians in the health sector, transport, and various industries will be supplied to Baden-Württemberg. On a pilot basis, at least 10,000 skilled workers across different fields will be made available to the Baden-Württemberg. For this, 30 trades, as well as courses in health professions, hospitality, and other sectors, have been established. Students who have completed the relevant courses can register on the website.

An MoU has also been signed between the Goethe Institut Max Mueller Bhavan Pune in Pune, and the State Council of Educational Research & Training(SCERT), Pune, for German language teaching. Candidates who register on the website and qualify will receive German language training. In the first phase, five German language classes will be started at the district level.

A significant number of teachers are required to teach the German language. Balkrishna Watekar, principal of the DIET, Pune stated that if there is any difference between the curriculum of Baden-Württemberg and Maharashtra about a trade, additional training will be provided to bridge the gap and enhance sector-specific skills where needed.
