Pune, 5th September 2024: In a grand celebration, the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Trust, known for establishing Hindustan’s first Ganpati mandal, will have their Ganesh idol installed by renowned singer Padma Shri Kailash Kher on Saturday, September 7, at 12:30 PM. The event will be marked by a grand procession accompanied by the rhythmic beats of Dhol-Tasha, welcoming Lord Ganesha with great fanfare.
Punit Balan, Celebration Chief and Trustee of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati Trust, shared, “As part of our annual tradition, we are organizing a grand procession for Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganpati. Following this, Padma Shri Kailash Kher will ceremoniously install the idol. I invite all devotees to join us in this auspicious event.”
Balan further elaborated on the schedule, stating, “The day will begin with Bappa’s Aarti at 8:10 AM on Ganesh Chaturthi, followed by the commencement of the grand procession. We will start with traditional games like Lathi-Kathi and the blowing of conches. Afterward, seven Dhol-Tasha troupes, including Shivmudra, Vadyavrund, Manvandana, Shree, NuMaVi, Kalawant, and Shriram, will salute the deity in front of the Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Bhavan.”
In a historic change, Balan noted, “For the first time in 132 years, the chariot (Rath) carrying the idol will not be pulled by bullocks. Instead, our dedicated mandal workers will pull the Rath. The installation of the Ganesh idol by Kailash Kher will take place at 12:30 PM, followed by other scheduled events.”
The grand celebrations will mark the beginning of the much-anticipated Ganesh Chaturthi festivities at one of Pune’s most revered Ganpati mandals.
