Pune: Raid On Illegal Hookah Parlor In Kondhwa; Son Of Former Home Minister Involved

Kondhwa, 31st August 2024: The crime branch raided an illegal hookah parlor in a hotel in the Kondhwa area of Pune on Thursday (29th August) night. In this regard, a case has been registered against five persons including the son of former Home Minister Ramesh Bagwe.

Five accused in the case have been identified as Baker Ramesh Bagwe (36), a resident of Lohiya Nagar, Bhawani Peth, Haroon Nabi Sheikh (25), Bikram Sadhan Sheikh (25), Amanat Anwar Mandal (22), Amanat Anwar (24), the three are reportedly natives of West Bengal.

According to the police, Baker Bagwe is the hotel owner and the other four are employees working in the hotel. Aromatic tobaccos and hookah pot worth Rs 23,500 were seized in the said raid.

The team of Kondhwa Police Station received the information that an illegal hookah parlor was being run in ‘The Village’ Hotel on NIBM Road in Kondhwa. Accordingly, Senior Police Inspector Vinay Patankar, Crime Branch Police Inspector Mansingh Patil, and a team raided the location and took necessary action.
