Baramati, 22nd August 2024: The past few days have been tense for Maharashtra. Political issues, sexual assault cases, and the approaching Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections have all contributed to the heightened tension, with political tactics being employed by various parties. In light of these events, four-time Baramati MP Supriya Sule addressed the situation. Supriya Sule, while at the Nationalist Congress Sharadchandra Pawar Party (NCP-SP) office in Baramati, interacted with the media.

MP Supriya Sule has targeted the Maharashtra State Government, stating, “In Maharashtra, the fear of the police uniform has vanished. The goons believe they can manipulate the system as they please. This is a failure of the Home Ministry. The government’s insensitivity has made the state’s law and order situation very dire.”

Supriya Sule continued, “In Maharashtra, the cases of female assaults have risen significantly. I am not personally criticizing Devendra Fadnavis, but as the Home Minister of Maharashtra, it is his failure. Crime is increasing in Maharashtra, according to the Central Government’s data. While 200 crores are to be spent on ‘advertisements’, the government is failing to stop crime.”

Supriya Sule further said, “The Maharashtra Government doesn’t run from Mantralaya; it runs from Delhi. Fadnavis engages with the media frequently from Delhi, and as Home Minister, he is not available. There were many expectations from Fadnavis, but in reality, the condition of the Home Ministry is very poor.”

Regarding the protests in Badlapur, where a lathi charge occurred, Supriya Sule made a serious allegation. Sule responded, “Lathi charges are used against protesters, and if they continue to protest, they are threatened with imprisonment. This is an indication of preparation to change the law, or even the constitution, to take action against the agitators.”

Regarding a question about the candidacy of Harshvardhan Patil from Indapur, Supriya Sule said, “In the coming days, the candidate for each constituency of Mahavikas Aghadi will be decided, and this will be clear within 15 days.”
