Currently, more than 12,000 family law cases have been pending for over a decade in Pune. The number of judges has gradually increased from five to seven, and now to nine. With Mumbai having seven family courts, Pune surpasses it in terms of capacity to handle family law disputes.
On average, 15 to 20 new cases, including divorce, child custody, and parental access, are filed daily in Pune. Additionally, the city has three senior division courts handling family law matters.
