Pune: Traffic Jams On All Major Roads, Waterlogging Reported in Multiple Areas Due to Heavy Rains

Pune, 25th September 2024: Heavy rainfall in Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad today caused several incidents of tree falls and waterlogging, prompting swift responses from the fire brigade. Between 7 AM and 7 PM, the Pune Fire Brigade responded to nine cases of trees collapsing and three instances of water entering residential and commercial areas.

Tree Falls:

1. Hadapsar, Bhaji Mandai
2. Kale Borate Nagar, Near Church
3. Paud Road, Near Krishna Hospital
4. Karvenagar, Pegasus Health Club
5. Dattawadi, Mhasoba Nagar
6. Aundh, Kasturba Colony
7. Vadgaonsheri, Mahadev Nagar
8. Hadapsar Bus Depot
9. Dhankawadi, Telephone Exchange

In all these incidents, the fire brigade responded promptly, clearing the debris and ensuring public safety. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from any of the locations.

Waterlogging:

Heavy rains also caused water to accumulate in several low-lying areas. The fire brigade was called in to assist with water removal in the following locations:

1. Ganj Peth
2. Castor, Near Hardiker Hospital
3. Koregaon Park

Traffic Jams: Commuters have reported traffic jams on University Road, Aundh Road, Khadki, Old Mumbai-Pune Highway and other major roads. People are caught in traffic jams for over one hour.
