Pune, 19th August 2024: ‘Stree 2’, the latest horror-comedy starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, is making waves at the global box office. The film, directed by Amar Kaushik, set new records on its opening day in India, outperforming previous hits like ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, and ‘Chennai Express’. With a remarkable opening collection of 76 crores and surpassing 200 crores domestically within four days, ‘Stree 2’ is now eyeing the 300 crore mark globally. It has so far earned 283 crores worldwide and requires just 18 crores more to join the elite 300 crore club.
The storyline of ‘Stree 2’ continues to captivate audiences with its blend of humor and horror, featuring the character Sarukta terrorizing Chanderi. The film’s strong performances by Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, and Rajkummar Rao have significantly contributed to its success. Overseas, ‘Stree 2’ has amassed 43 crores within the first four days, contributing to its global total. This impressive performance has surpassed the earnings of several major releases, including ‘Baahubali 2’,
‘Gadar 2’, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, Chennai Express’, and ‘Golmaal Again’. The film’s success has also led to speculation about a sequel, ‘Stree 3’, with Akshay Kumar expected to play a leading role.
