Two cases filed in Pune for raising provocative slogans

This incident occurred on September 20, and senior police inspector Dilip Phulpagare from Swargate police station filed the FIR on September 24, citing various sections under the Indian Penal Code, including 299, 123 (2), 221, 189 (2), 189 (3), 189 (5), 190, 56, 57, 353 (2), as well as the Maharashtra Police Act 37(1)(3) and 135. As of now, no arrests have been made, according to the police.

In the second incident, the Khadki police filed charges on Wednesday against the president and officials of the Maulana Azad Foundation (Indira Kalyan Kendra) for allegedly shouting provocative slogans against those who insulted the Muslim Prophet, making derogatory remarks about MLA Nitesh Rane, and expressing support for Palestine. This incident occurred on September 21.

The FIR was filed by Sham Nandram Kachi, a resident of Gadi Adda in Khadki. In his complaint, Kachi mentioned that the accused raised provocative slogans near the Sai Clinic area in Khadki bazaar, violating police regulations.

The individuals identified in this case are Asneen Majid Qureshi, 20; Affan Riyaz Chaudhary, 20; Kamran Ishaque Ansari, 19; and Arsalan Mahroof Chaudhary, 22, all of whom have been arrested.

The police have invoked sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) 189 (2), 196, 223, 302, along with the Maharashtra Police Act 37 (1) (3) and 135.
